3. Advice to Moms with Multiple Kids

Advice to Moms with Multiple Kids

Yes, Mama, you’re here because you’ve decided to stop reinventing the wheel. You are seeking out new parenting strategies in your neverending quest to be a good mom to your kiddos.

My advice to moms with multiple kids?

From wherever you get your help, whether it be from me, or from another qualified resource, resist the temptation to save time by processing the information for all of your cherubs, all at once.

If you’re a mother, you’re busy! I get it. As a parent, time is precious.

However, your kids have individual personalities, and, um, quirks (and probably differing ages). To create the greatest possible impact, I recommend you focus your new found strategies on one child at a time.

Why? Focused efforts create greater change than those thinly spread out for maximum coverage. Instead, make space to investigate the results of your efforts with one child. Otherwise, you’ll miss the subtleties of what happens if you’re distracted by multiple reactions.

My suggestion is that you start with the child you bang heads with the most, or the child that seems the most uncomfortable with him/herself. Keep that individual in mind as you go through a parenting course, or test a new parenting strategy. You can always go back and repeat the techniques later with a focus on a second child.

Here’s a small sample of this relationship changing course:

Learn hundreds more parenting strategies in my upcoming course, “Connecting with Kids in a Disconnected World.” It’s time to take your relationship with your kids to the next level.

About the Author

Hi There! And, Welcome!

I’m Deborah Ann Davis, and I’ve been at this for over three decades, first as a high school teacher, and now as a parenting strategist within The Awesome Mom Tribe. I’m into sharing tons of techniques that put you in touch with yourself, despite all that negative energy out there.

On a personal note, I’m all about bird-watching, rock-collecting, picture-taking and science-geeking. I have a wonderful husband and we have an incredible daughter (objectively speaking, of course). Basically, with all its ups and downs, I love my life!
