Mothers Day in August: A Day Off from Parenting

Now that the nationally recognized Mother’s Day has passed, the question remains, why do moms get only one day off a year?

All the other professions get a couple of days off each week. Why? Because the workforce needs time to relax so they can be rejuvenated. Everyone knows taking a break increases your creativity and energy, but somehow, moms all over the world didn’t get the memo.

Mama, you’ve been on call 24/7 for the last… how many years? And, with only one day off a year? I think we can do better than that. After all, you can’t pour from an empty pitcher.
