Are You Taking Time To Take Care Of Yourself?
Being a mom comes with a lot of responsibilities. How many moms do you know who aren’t busy most of the day taking care of their families? How often do you feel so caught up in taking care of others that you fail to take care of yourself? Mothers, it’s time to stop neglecting self-care. In pursuit of unobtainable perfection, you will fail to see all the ways in which you’re an amazing mother. Guess what? You don’t need perfection. You already are an Awesome Mom!
Hi, I’m Deborah Ann Davis. I am a personal coach, author, educator, and speaker – and my goal is to help mothers like you. You aren’t the only mother who feels overwhelmed. You aren’t the only mother who worries she’s not the “perfect mom” she feels she’s expected to be. With my B.S. in education, my M.Ed. in Supervision, and my certification as a W.I.T.S as a Personal Trainer, I’m eager to use my knowledge to help mothers like you today!
Taking Care Of Yourself Is Taking Care Of Your Family
When was the last time you took time for yourself? How often do you engage in a little “Me Time” without feeling guilty? Is it your instinct to avoid self-care because you feel its selfish to take time for yourself? You’re not the first mother to feel this sort of guilt. Moms often feel they are a mom first and a person second. Their own needs are at the bottom of their list of priorities. Do you really believe, though, that not taking care of yourself is best for your and your family?
Self-care opens the door to allow you to be at your best. When you prioritize self-care you are prioritizing your family, too. You have to replenish yourself in order to care for others. When you consider this fact, you realize that taking care of yourself isn’t selfish at all. It’s nothing you need to feel guilty about. Taking care of yourself isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity.
Remember – perfect moms don’t actually exist. Mothers who seem to be able to do it all are mothers who are getting help in ways you don’t even realize. Every mother is just a mother who is trying to do her best – and that’s what makes them Awesome Moms. You keep trying your best, Mama – both for your family and for yourself!
